BlackBerry Torch 9810 dan Torch 9860, Tampil dengan BB OS 7 dan Teknologi NFC

Research in Motion (RIM) kembali ke trek persaingan pasar smartphone dengan meluncurkan BlackBerry Torch 9810 dan Torch 9860/9850 (UMTS/CDMA).

Kedua smartphone yang sempat dikabarkan dalam bentuk rumor beberapa waktu lalu ini akan hadir dengan prosesor single-core 1.2 GHz dan menjalankan OS terbaru BlackBerry OS 7.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 adalah sebuah perangkat layar sentuh dengan keyboard QWERTY sliding. Smartphone ini memiliki layar 253 dpi dan juga telah disematkan chip NFC. Ponsel ini juga dibekali kamera 5 MP dengan kemampuan yang sama seperti seri Bold terbaru, yakni untuk rekam video 720p.

Sementara BB Torch 9860 merupakan smartphone dengan tebal hanya sekitar 11.5 mm. Smartphone ini memiliki layar dengan ukuran 3.7” beresolusi WSVGA 800x480 dengan 253 dpi. Untuk urusan pengabadi gambar smartphone ini dibekali kamera 5 MP dengan autofocus dan mampu merekam video @720p. BlackBerry Torch 9860 yang sempat beredar rumornya beberapa waktu lalu dikenal dengan codename Monza.

Terkait dengan platform BlackBerry OS 7 yang baru diperkenalkan RIM yang disematkan di kedua smartphone ini diklaim membuat smartphone sangat responsif, memiliki interface engine baru, dan suguhan animasi menarik yang dapat berubah-ubah.

Tak hanya itu OS terbaru ini juga digadang-gadang memiliki browser yang dikatakan sebagai yang terbaik di class HTML 5 dan kinerja JavaScript-nya. Sebagai perbandingan, browser BlackBerry OS 7 dinilai 40% lebih cepat ketimbang pada BlackBerry OS 6.

Kedua smartphone ini juga bakal hadir dengan fitur BlackBerry Messenger 6, yang merupakan BBM versi terbaru yang lebih sosial dan berfokus untuk ‘easy sharing’.
